Hypnotherapy, dispelling the myth

Hypnotherapy is a natural form of therapy that helps direct your imagination in such a way as to bring about desired changes.

The hypnotic, or trance state, you will achieve while relaxing on the hypnotherapy couch is very much like the one you go into when you are driving or reading and can’t remember some of the steps that led you to your destination or the bottom of the page. Unlike it may appear in popularised hypnotherapy shows, you will always have ultimate control and will leave the trance state relatively quickly and easily. 

What can hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy can be applied to a wide range of medical and psychological problems. Areas where hypnotherapy can help include anxiety and stress conditions, weight control, addictive behaviours (including smoking, alcohol and substance misuse) and confidence issues. Types of hypnotherapy

I am a solution-focused hypnotherapy practitioner and will use the best methods to suit you as an individual and your particular issues.  Solution focused hypnotherapy is more suggestive than traditional forms of hypnosis and looks towards building a positive future rather than delving back into a painful past in search of answers. 

When we first meet we will discuss the issues you want to work on and I will suggest a programme of treatment that is best suited to you. 

In our regular sessions and during hypnosis, I will use metaphors to give suggestions and ideas to your unconscious mind. This can be very effective because it helps to eliminate the resistance to change that may come from the conscious mind.
